“Negotiating Contracts and Navigating Relationships” Fall Workshop with Summer-Harmony Twenish

“Negotiating Contracts and Navigating Relationships” Fall Workshop with Summer-Harmony Twenish

Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2026

Time: 6:00 - 9:00 PM EST

Where: Virtually via Zoom

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This workshop will focus on artist contracts (what they are and how we negotiate them), building relationships with clients, having "the money talk", and special considerations for Indigenous artists (including navigating uncomfortable situations and when to walk away). The goal of this workshop is for artists to leave feeling confident and ready for their next big gig!

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP LEADER

Summer-Harmony Twenish (she/they) is a queer Algonquin Anishinabe artist from Kitigan Zibi, Quebec. Her work is rooted in a deep love for her culture, homelands, and the women who raised her. Summer's work is unapologetically joyful, pissed-off, and tender. Through her playful illustrative style, she depicts the fluidity and diversity of Indigenous existence today, with Indigenous femmes to the front.
